August 2004 LARC
acquires its first big boat - a
Burgashell 4x/-
LARC Members visited from South of England to witness
the launch of the clubs new 4x/- on 2nd August. The
boat was christened Aardvark by Sarah Cowderoy and taken for
an inaugural outing by Andrew Rudkin (President), James
Cowderoy (Captain), Ewan Pearson and Robb Muir - see
photos.
June 2004 Loch Ard Rowing Club compete in
70 Wild Miles
Douglas Harrison, John Digney and James Cowderoy
participated in 70 Wild Miles in Glencoe.
April 2004 -
Jesus College Boat
Club and
Glasgow University Boat Club return for Spring Training Camp:
Jesus College (Cambridge) Boat Club visited Loch Ard for a
second year in a row to undertake its Spring Training Camp.
This year both the 1st and 2nd VIII's participated.
Glasgow University also returned to Loch Ard for a week's
training before easter.

The Loch Ard - A Code of Conduct has been
published by the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park
Authority on behalf of the Loch Ard Recreation Management
Working Group (of which LARC is a member). A *.pdf

June 2003 Loch Ard Rowing Club in
70 Wild Miles
£8,000 raised for Cancer Research UK
Douglas Harrison and James Cowderoy participated in 70
Wild Miles in Glencoe. Together with Iona Cowderoy,
Patrick Harrison, Abby Harrison, and Gerald Harrison they
raised £8,000 for Cancer Research UK.

Jesus College Boat
Club Spring Training Camp:
Jesus College (Cambridge) Boat Club visited Loch Ard for the
first time to undertake its Spring Training Camp.
March 2003 - Win at
Strathclyde:
At the Strathclyde University Easter Regatta held on 12th
April, Christine Kerr and partner Julie Donn (Castle Semple
R.C.) won the womens' R2 2x against opposition from
Strathclyde University. The race was held over a
distance of 1,500m on the river Clyde. Christine also
coxed a Strathclyde University mens' novice IV to victory
over opposition from Stirling University and another
Strathclyde University crew.
